Week of 9/24 - 9/28

Wow, what a phenomenal week on Y&R! All I can think about is Victor coming back from "the dead." That's what the week focused on as well as where my focus was!!

Last week ended with an explosion right after Nikki hears Victor's voice on her cell phone. Monday's episode was epic--Genevieve and Sister Celeste tend to the injured men coming into the bar after the explosion, but no Victor. Genevieve and Billy are worried about what has happened to him, and then they hear the news--Victor is dead, shocking and devastating to both of them. Genevieve especially is devastated and denies that it's true. The scenes were done in slow motion without sound, and they couldn't have been done more artfully. I thought those scenes were just perfect!

Sister Celeste soon lets Genevieve in on a secret--Victor is really alive and has been hidden away since it's now obvious someone is trying to kill him. Not only is he alive, but he remembers Genevieve's name. I was shocked! And happy. But I didn't like seeing the Black Knight (one of his nicknames) so badly injured. It reminded me of when I was a kid, Victor had a stroke (or a heart attack?), and Jack (his archnemesis) left him for dead. Those were difficult scenes to watch. Eric Braedon's acting is and was stellar.

The residents of Genoa City soon find out about Victor's "death" from Billy after he comes back from L.A. As Victor's wife, Sharon is asked to identify his body. When the coroner pulled up the sheet from Victor's "body", Sharon Case, the actress playing Sharon, had a dead on horrified reaction. At first, I thought Sharon, the character, was so cold hearted, yelling at what she thought was Victor's body; however, I soon realized she knew it wasn't Victor. She asks for the body to be immediately cremated. That's just awful! That's someone's relative, and what if that isn't that person's wishes? How could she do that?? She's that hungry to run Newman? Since when has she cared about running a multi-million dollar corporation?

The next thing I know, suddenly Tucker and Sharon are planning to get married and run Newman together. Wow, really? This just screams for Victor swooping back in with his brand of justice!

Back in L.A., Victor remembers his name is Christian Miller (the name he was born with but later changed to Victor Newman after he left the orphanage, where he spent much of his childhood), and then soon remembers he is Victor Newman!! I was ecstatic!

At the memorial for Victor, Sharon, wearing a white dress, arrives with Tucker. What a bitchy thing to do. She lets everyone know she's marrying Tucker after the memorial service. That's even bitchier!! She was so fake when she spoke during the service and didn't allow any of Victor's family to say any words. Then she makes everyone go out to the grave. Not even five minutes later, she's like, "Oh, it's time for me to marry my brand new shiny husband." I was furious! Nikki really lays into her, and her lines were so awesome and delivered with spunk! Then Sharon just leaves to marry Tucker like she doesn't even care. I think it was genius though for the writers to keep building the sense of outrage and injustice of it all. That made Victor's comeback ten times better.

Gasp! Nikki asks to be alone to mourn at the gravesite, and while she cries, Victor appears!! She can't believe she's really seeing him. She starts to tell him everything that's happened, but he lets her know that he is aware of everything that's happened since he's been gone. She tells him Sharon is about to marry Tucker.

Sharon and Tucker are pronounced husband and wife. Priceless = Victor yells that they aren't with that quiet strength that is his and his alone. Everyone arrives and are stunned to see Victor alive and well. Tucker realizes Sharon knew the truth when she doesn't surprised in the slightest. Nick is stunned as are Billy and Victoria who have entered the chapel. Tucker is surprised but then realizes Sharon knew Victor wasn't dead.

Victor reveals that Tucker was paying Genevieve to keep Victor away from Genoa City, and she apologizes for her role in the situation. She's gonna have to do a lot of work to redeem herself in the eyes of her family and the other residents of Genoa City. I cheered loudly when Victor ordered Sharon to move off the ranch.

But oh Lord, Victor and Nikki are going to get together again. I do love when they're together, but they implode so badly it's painful. Inevitably, they will implode again. Nikki takes a lot of horrible treatment from Victor, and it's sad. If they're really a supercouple, then she should stand up for herself instead of chasing after him every time he decides to take off.

Tucker is angry with Sharon and won't talk to her. If you ask me, Victor isn't done with Sharon and Tucker. But he did forgive Billy for knowing he was in L.A. and keeping that knowledge a secret. I don't know what Victoria is going to do. I'd be super pissed if I thought my dad was dead only to find out my husband knew he was really alive. Super pissed!

I canNOT wait to see more of the vengeance I'm 100% sure Victor will wreak on those who have wronged him. It's gonna be awesomesauce!!!

soapy sundays #10

First of all, I want to express my gratitude to every one of you who read my blog and a warm welcome to all of my new followers! I appreciate each and every one of you!! Without any readers, I'd basically be talking to myself, and trust me, it would totally not be worth it! <3

The Young & the Restless
Week of 9/17 - 9/21

Monday 9/17 - Isn't Tucker rich enough? I realize he's ruthless and doesn't care about Victor, but Victor's had a heart transplant! He shouldn't be getting beaten up. If I were Genevieve, I'd bring him home anyway and screw what Tucker wants. Just get a job, Genevieve, like everyone else. So what if you aren't going to be rich anymore, at least you're away from your psycho mob husband.

As much as I hate to say this, Jack's right--Nikki's devotion to Victor is a huge sign that a marriage with her wouldn't last. I liked Jack and Nikki together as a couple. Victor and Nikki are a supercouple, yes, and I do love them together; however, Victor doesn't appreciate her, and she lets him walk all over her. They have a love/hate relationship, and it's painful to watch sometimes. Why couldn't Jack and Nikki just be happy for a while? They had such a beautiful wedding--shame it went to waste. Anyway, Jack knew how connected Nikki is to Victor, but he married her anyhow. So why did he do it in the first place? *Sigh*

I'm pretty surprised the judge reinstated Sharon as CEO. As the Newman stock tumbles again, Jack is happy, but I have a feeling Cane's warnings are going to come true.

Tuesday 9/18 - I wish Kevin and Adam would stop arguing about their website. I don't really think it's wise of Kevin to argue with the guy who's financially backing his business venture. Why is Kevin against linking to Jabot? I don't get it. Cane is completely correct in his hesitation to work with them after seeing Adam and Kevin can't even seem to get along. I liked this storyline a lot more when things were going smoothly.

I don't think Adam should have signed with Cane when Kevin wasn't there, but again, I don't get why Kevin doesn't want to work with Jabot. Am I missing something? I don't blame you Cane, I wouldn't want to do business with them either! They can't agree on the simplest of things. Chloe is right to blame Kevin--what's his deal? Does he want the website to tank?

Of course Nick is going to leave Phyllis again--that's all he does. She needs to tell him the truth, but I understand why she tries to solve her problems on her own even though she always makes them worse. Nick does get disappointed with her easily. He's jealous of her connection with Ronan, and I probably would be, too. However, he doesn't see Phyllis the same way Ronan does--Ronan loves her faults and all. That's why I'm hoping they end up together--they're a very root-worthy couple.

I can't say I'm surprised Daisy is alive. I could've told her that overdosing wasn't going to get her to the hospital; they're going to keep her in the psychiatric institution even longer now. She was hoping to be taken to the hospital and then escape. Well, if you've overdosed, exactly how are you going to escape from the hospital??

Wednesday 9/19 - It's funny how there hasn't been another episode of "Restless Style" lately, and I can't help wondering if the writers have realized it isn't really working. The show is a yawn for me. Billy managing the magazine is far more interesting. Anyway, Billy is going to have his hands full rescuing his marriage to Victoria once she finds out he's known all along where her father, Victor, has been.

Note to Kevin--Phyllis has every right to hate your sister. Daisy DRUGGED and RAPED her son. Duh! I'd hate her, too. Of course Kevin would be sympathetic towards Daisy--he once tried to kill a girl by locking her in a restaurant and burning it down. (No joke!)

Billy, listen to Genevieve...tell everyone where Victor is so this can all be over. He really is in danger with these bad guys trying to beat him up every other day. He doesn't even know who he is! I can't WAIT to find out how he got to L.A. and how he developed amnesia. That's what's keeping me hooked to this storyline.

I loved how Sharon tried to fire Nick and Victoria, completely unaware they set safeguards in place while she was being evaluated so she couldn't fire them again. Ha ha Sharon!! It's really strange, because in some instances, I'm with Nick and Victoria while in other instances, I'm not really with them. To me, that's a sign of great writing and acting--no one in "real life" is all good or all bad; we're all a mixture of both.

Thursday 9/20 - I knew Christine was going to let Ronan have it when she heard he has given Phyllis an alibi for the night Tim died. I'm guessing Ronan probably will end up losing his job with the FBI, but he could just start working for Paul as a P.I. or something. He'll come out just fine. He could even start his own P.I. agency, lol!

Genevieve and Billy--just bring Victor home before someone kills him, sheesh. I think this is really crazy--men wanting to kill Victor because he's trying to better working conditions for others--but obviously it isn't worth his life if you ask me. Plus, he's had a heart transplant. He's doing heavy work and getting beaten up--things a heart transplant recipient should definitely NOT be receiving!

When Paul is able to slip into Daisy's room, one of the best scenes of this episode was when Daisy tells Paul his son, Ricky, wanted to kill her because she saw the video of Ricky killing his girlfriend. The way she delivered her line was priceless. I had to watch it twice, it was so good!!  And I'm not even a big fan of the Daisy character.

Friday 9/21 - I really hope Daisy can testify on Paul's behalf. That might somewhat redeem her. Paul doesn't deserve to go down for killing his son--Ricky was about to kill Eden. Paul saved Eden's life! Paul's a good guy--he's twisted himself into knots over this horrible tragedy and completely blames himself. I hate seeing him go through all of this. I love Paul!

What?!? Daisy's mother checked her out??? As in Sheila Carter? Good Lord!

Adam's pretty smart, and if I were Sharon, I'd listen to him. Adam has ruthless business people like Tucker figured out, after all, he's one of them. I'm sure Adam knows Tucker is using Sharon, but since she won't listen to him, there isn't a lot he can do. Besides, he's married now to Chelsea and expecting--his days of "rescuing" Sharon are done. She's beyond help.

Ack! Now I have to wait the entire weekend to find out what's happened to Victor after that explosion. What a way to end a week!! Just as Nikki calls the phone number Billy gave her, and Victor says her name...BAM! The whole dock explodes! Is Victor dead, or did he survive the explosion? He can't be dead--no way in hell! There is no way I'm going to believe this...the stache must live on--Genoa City would never be the same! Victor, just come home!!

soapy sundays #9

The Young and the Restless
For the weeks of 9/3-9/7 & 9/10-9/14

So. Craziness ensues over at Y&R! I don't like Sharon's character right now, but I also don't like having her evaluated by a psychiatrist due to past behavior although she is showing signs of kleptomania again. But she's deemed competent to run Newman in the absence of her husband, Victor. At first I couldn't figure out why everyone but Sharon is freaking out wondering where he is, but now that it seems he has amnesia it's all starting to make sense.

Nikki has some dead-on psychic connection to Victor. I just wish she could've put that aside and had a happy marriage with Jack. What a shame such a beautiful wedding has gone to waste, and as I've mentioned before, I'd like Jack to be happily married. Maybe it'd tone down the obsessive business man in him.

I loved seeing Cane in action, trying to talk Jack out of sinking everything into Newman stock. Cane warned Jack he could lose everything plus people's jobs are at stake. As messed up as it is, Jack of course has forged ahead full steam anyhow. Cane is hottt in a suit--talk business to me Cane!!! <3 lol

It's killing me that Nick and Summer have moved out away from Phyllis. It's really sad that Summer has to believe her mom had an affair with Ronan because otherwise, she'd be carrying around the real truth--that Tim died in Phyllis's apartment, and Phyllis moved his body to his own apartment along with the help of Kevin. Though I'm sad that Nick has once again abandoned Phyllis, I'm really rooting for Phyllis and Ronan to get together.

When Michael asked him why he's laying everything on the line, including his career, for Phyllis because Michael pretty much knows Ronan and Phyllis aren't really having an affair. He knows Ronan is covering for Phyllis. Ronan answered that he's in love with her, and my heart melted into a puddle of goo!! Wow he's hot. He's there for Phyllis so much more than Nick, and when Phyllis told Nick that she doesn't tell him things because she doesn't want to see the disappointment in his eyes, I totally get that. It's true--he's so easily disgusted by the things she does. She has her flaws for sure, and she used to be a villain on the show. But she's come a long way since then, and I absolutely adore her. She's one of my fave characters. I love her to pieces. BTW, I think the actress playing Summer is great. It's difficult when kids on soaps are rapidly aged, but she's handling the role with finesse. Kudos to her! :D

The Bold and the Beautiful

I'm sad to report I haven't been able to watch this show. Now I know that Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester) is leaving the show as well as Susan Flannery (Stephanie Forrester), I'm devastated. What is the show gonna be without them? They've been there since the beginning. The show is the Hope/Steffy/Liam hour, and I am so completely annoyed by Liam it's hard to watch the horrible choices he makes. I wish I could shake some sense into him!! lol

Hey everyone! I want to do a quick post today listing all of the books I'm reading for review. I really should have participated in the Review Copy Clean-up many blogs took part in, but I was too shy to put myself out there, lol. Hopefully, this quick post will help me get organized and hopefully alleviate my feeling of overwhelmedness. Yep, I just said "overwhelmedness." It's a word. Look it up. ;)

I've just finished these books for review recently and am getting ready to write up my reviews:

Pearl Lover Life of the Party Fresh Flesh (Fresh, #1) What Kills Me Mohawk Moon (Mohawk Series) - Janelle hasn't been home in ten years. All of a sudden, she has to deal with her mothers death, her broken relationship with her sister, and some sexy stranger following her. She doesn't know whether to be scared, or excited.Damien needs to restore his families honor. He needs to use Janelle to do it, there's one problem. There's someone standing in the way.
